                                     The strength of resolution.

Resolute power is definitely great. With firm resolve even mountains move.

Difficult works become easy to accomplish when the resolution is done backed by efforts. Appreciating the strength of firm resolve or will power, the Vedic devotee declares,

Akoothim deveem subhagaam puro dadhe|   Atharva 19.4.2

Meaning: - I move forward with the strength of resolution which is prosperous.

Those who never step back even in the midst of untold difficulties them alone register victories over the forts of iron.

The Vedic hero talks of his resolution as under.

Nudasva kaama  pra  nudasva kaamavarthi yantu  mama ye sapathnaah|

                                                                                           Atharvaveda 9.2.4

Meaning: - oh! The well sought! My resolve! My fire of knowledge! Drive away the difficulties that lay in my path. Oh! My determined will! Let all my enemies run away. Aware of this resolution he sounds trimphutantly

Let us fight in every field

                  Ever win and never yield.

We should always win wars putting up stiff resistance. Never we should yield and get defeated for the reason winning is the right conduct and defeat is dereliction. The mind power is very important. Let their be a good resolution. Our resolve should not be directed towards the destruction but be aimed at the good of the world. Hence, resolution is ought to be holy. In order to make our resolutions good and benign, the Vedic hero prays as under before retiring to bed at night.

Susharathirashvaniva  yanyanushwan neeyathe bhee shu bhewarjina eva

Hripathistam yadajira javishtam tanme mana shivashankalpamastu||

                                                                                                Yajurveda 34.6

Meaning: - May O Lord! the controller of Universe, my mind- which is like a driver who can swing horses round in all directions sways men hither and thither, is seated in the heart, possessed of great activity and extreme energy- restrain all the senses from treading the path of wickedness and always direct them in the path of righteousness. Mayest, Thou, O Lord! Of Thy kindness grant my prayer.
