The vedic way of life is not for the timid and the meek and those
obsessed with slave or herd mentality. It is for the lions who rather
prefer to follow the right path bound by none, not even their own egos.

Such lions have to be ever eager to quit the false and accept the right
path.

The vedic philosophy offers no shortcuts at all and thats why its not very appealing to the modern day man. What it offers on contrary is just purusharth meaning 'sincere noble efforts'.

If there is one single messagewhich predominates the vedic literature it is purusharth.

Now compare itwith many other fancy philosophies where sitting idle and chanting a Ram Ram
or Allah Allah, or having a bath at kashi or visiting Mecca alone
guarantees a reservation for you in the heaven.

Second, while many philosophies view logic as an obstacle to Bhakti/devotion/spiritualim,
vedic philosophy views it as a necessary tool. It further implies that
without proper knowledge you cannot rise up spiritually. And gaining
this knowledge is a challenging task. You need to go through the vedic
literature, understand the message by cross-questioning and analysis,
practice dictums of yoga and keep practicing the teachings in life so
that shraddha in vedic knowledge gets stronger and stronger.

So for thevast majority of people in the world, the shortcuts offered by cults and supersiitions gives them very convinient escape routes. The ishopanishad aptly says that such people keep going further and further in darkness. its
difficult for them to get out of it because they illude themselves to
treat darkness as light.

A vedic lion is characterized by resilence to sheep psyche, transcent of false ego trap and dynamism for rational changes.
And ofcourse, in today's world such lions are rare to find.

But it remains our supreme duty to awaken this lion within ourselves and other.

Yes its a big task, and thats what motivates a vedic soldier.
